I heard about KELLY Z. from Kelly's Lot YEARS ago from a variety of bands - seems she pushed the LA music scene as hard as I pushed Long Beach back then.
On occasion Kelly's Lot plays in Long Beach at the Liquid Lounge. On the SECOND SATURDAY of April, this band -> now PODSAFE <- will take the stage from 12noon to 4pm on Second Street in Belmont Shore.
In addition to being PODSAFE Kellys has also started a podcast promoting HepCaware.org in the name of a friend she lost to the disease. (THINK TWICE before sharing a toothbrush or shaver!)
I will be in the band area of the CHILI COOKOFF from there 2pm-4pm after attending LBpodcasters.com in the same area.
It is $5 for a wrist band where you can try chili - I hope to make my rounds prior to 2pm on my own ;)
